A relaxing inn with nostalgic atmosphere

A charming and nostalgic district of Japanese inns
Nature abounds around Marubun Inn, and from guestrooms facing the river,
you can see the clear stream of the Yamagami River, and Ryusenji Temple,
a sacred site of Shugendo (Japanese mountain asceticism).

The finest ingredients, prepared with loving care

In the summer, hiyayakko (chilled tofu with toppings) made with Meisui Tofu, a Dorogawa specialty.
In the fall, kamonabe (duck hotpot), sukiyaki (beef hotpot with sweet sauce), and our special forte: plumply baked river fish.
Savor these delicious dishes at your leisure in a dining space with subdued atmosphere.

Historic townscape

Dorogawa Onsen (hot spring) has prospered as a stop for ascetics since ancient times.
As you walk through the retro townscape, you'll feel like you've traveled back in time.
At night, paper lanterns are lit, creating a charming ambience completely different from daytime.
Forget the time, and spend some leisurely moments.

Dorogawa in Tenkawa Village has long been known for its beautiful water.
The Marubun Inn, built at the foot of the red bridge in the onsen (hot spring)
district has a retro atmosphere reminiscent of the Taisho era.
Get away from the bustle of the city, and spend some relaxing time.

Mael

Our specialties are river fish like ayu (sweetfish) and trout which thrive in the clear streams nearby, and Meisui Tofu made with Gorogoro Mizu, a spring water recognized as one of the 100 Best Waters in Japan.
With sukiyaki (beef hotpot with sweet sauce) or kamonabe (duck hotpot), we serve 250 g of meat for each adult to ensure everyone is satisfied.

Room

A total of five rooms are available.
From riverside rooms, you can see the clear stream of the Yamagami River and Ryusenji Temple, a sacred site of Shugendo (Japanese mountain asceticism) on the other side.
During the autumn leaf viewing season (around the beginning of November in a typical year), you can enjoy gorgeous fall colors.

Hot spring

From the large bath on the river (men’s bath), you can take in the view of the lushly green Yamagami River.
Enjoy the fine quality of the Dorogawa Onsen—known for its mellow character and beneficial effects on the skin.
